Krysta Halas, LCPC

Co-Owner and Co-Founder | Psychotherapist since 2019.

Our work often includes building practical tools to manage anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and emotional overwhelm while strengthening self-awareness, self-compassion, and trust in your own judgment. Therapy can also be a space to reconnect with what matters most to you, including your values, beliefs, and sense of purpose.

I take an integrative and trauma-informed approach, blending evidence-based therapies with insight-oriented and attachment-informed work. I often incorporate mind–body awareness to help clients reconnect with their internal experiences and rebuild trust in themselves and their bodies. I value collaboration and often work alongside dietitians, physicians, and other providers when it supports a client’s care.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. My background includes work across multiple levels of care, including therapeutic school settings, hospitals, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). I previously worked at Eating Recovery Center/Pathlight Mood and Anxiety Center and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health.

Outside of the therapy room, I value slowing down and caring for my own well-being. I recharge by spending time in nature, watching a good TV show, and spending time with my pets, a cat and a dog who definitely keep life interesting. I also appreciate humor and the small moments of lightness that help keep life balanced.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. If you’re considering therapy, I’d be glad to connect.

I believe therapy works best when it feels steady, collaborative, and grounded. It becomes a space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and understand your thoughts, emotions, and body with greater compassion. I show up as calm, honest, and fully present, creating an environment where you can be exactly as you are.

I provide therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, with much of my work focused on teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, eating disorders and body image concerns, trauma-related stress, ADHD, OCD, and concerns related to identity, self-trust, and life transitions.

Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside and used to handling things on their own. They may appear capable and composed, while internally carrying the pressure, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion. Their inner critic can be loud, shaping how they see themselves, their bodies, and their decisions.

Even when they are doing their best, something inside may still question whether they are enough.

Some people feel disconnected from their body or unsure how to trust their own needs. Others are navigating life transitions, identity questions, or the lingering impact of past experiences. For those struggling with eating disorders or body image concerns, therapy can become a space to gently rebuild trust with your body, reconnect with internal cues, and develop a kinder relationship with yourself.
